secretagentmole 1,701
Anybody see the story in The Star about the burglar who rang the police to complain when he broke into someone's house in Hull armed with an iron bar that he got shot by an air rifle (by a Webley Stingray Carbine judging by the photo)? The judge was most unsympathetic... Quote Link to post
hunter1989 91
what have you done mole Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
The home owner who shot him is lucky not to be prosecuted! As for him phoning the police to complain, serves him right and I hope they throw the book at him. BTW, you don't actually believe anything you "read" in the star do you? 1 Quote Link to post
millsy44 72
I saw it yeah, like has been said hes lucky not to have been bollocked big style, I guess you never know what goes through your head when you come across some scum in your home, he had a baby in the house aswell i think. Fair play to the lad 1 Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Looks like the guy was taking a swing at him with the bar, so I guess it came under "reasonable force". Of course, he could have been done for failing to prevent an under 18 (his daughter) from having access to an air weapon! He might get a bit more of a shock if he breaks in to mine, firstly the dog would take exception, and then I might be cleaning the shotgun or rifles. Reckon I'd get away with taking his head off with the shotgun, if I had it out to clean and was under threat? Edited February 18, 2011 by matt_hooks Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
I think that you cannot believe much you read in the Star, but this seems to be one of the more believable stories. I think he was let off as it was an air rifle and the bloke did have an iron bar so he was classed as having an offensive weapon! Quote Link to post
Buster321c 1,010
Ide have smashed his fookin head in with the butt and then smacked him with the iron bar the feckin scum bag ......... 3 Quote Link to post

lighthunter 81
i would have done the same as the house owner did, then i would have gutted and skined him. regards chaz Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
I would of unloaded my r10 mag into him after my zini had finished eating him and dragging him around the floor. Good on the judge I reckon. Scum bags like that deserve all they get. Quote Link to post

Tony Martin only got done because he didn't shoot them until they were leaving. Had he shot them while still robbing him he would have been ok. Quote Link to post

scalesntails 118
The way I see it is that if someone is inside my house stealing then no one knows they are there. That means I would get roughly 2 weeks free dog food and a nice bonfire. :whistling: Quote Link to post
