out last night

my mate phoned me last night see if i fancied getting out for an hour or so, we took my s410 and his dog, a little whippet cross. after a half hour or so drive to my permission we arrived to a full moon and the light beaming down on the field, at 11pm at night it felt like early morning, we could see right accross our fields! could of even seen our quarry without the lamp if there was any! never mind we drove on to our next set of fields about 4miles away and when we got there a bit of cloud had coverd the moon and things were looking a bit better. a little bit of wind blowing into our faces give us a bit of confidence. as we walked through the open gate and flicked the lamp on a rabbit got up in front and my mate slipped his dog. after a couple of short sharp turns it was 1-0 to the dog! next field the dog took another, and another! finally it was me and the s410 up next, a fairly easy shot at about 25 yards (my zero). just in front of a fence, from the standing position i steadied and squeezed but TBH it was more of a snatch and the result was a very poorly placed shot at the top of the rabbits chest  the dog quickly made up for my mistake and we luckily ended any suffering. after another 3 fields with very little happening we called it a night, i had 1 shot and a very poor 1 at that. anyway onwards and upwards i will be out next week enjoying it again, minus the dog! sorry its not strictly an airgun post but i thought you might like to know how our night went.. ATB Mick
