jacksbignose 8
TBH it really depends as much as anything on what ground you are running them on! They can catch as good as a lurcher and have loads of bottle but run them on rough ground and you have to ask yourself how much hammer they can take! Quote Link to post
DogMagic 461
Cheers jacksbignose. Have you got one? Quote Link to post
jacksbignose 8
Cheers jacksbignose. Have you got one? No I run lurchers but I've been out lamping with a friend who had one and it matched my lurchers in open fields. Quote Link to post
DogMagic 461
Thats good. Was it from nigel wallbank? I run lurchers myself but iv thought about a working whippet. Quote Link to post
redial 81
Ive always liked them but only keeping one running dog I did worry they wouldnt take the workload Ive seen afew with shivers in very cold conditions could that take an edge off them .more questions than answers. Fairly sure that's what he said, my mate isn't local to the NE and I rarely see him these days. As I say it was a one-off night's lamping so I can't vouch for it day-in day-out but it was keen and struck well (rabbits only). Quote Link to post

I couldnt see it anyway. But if i ring and ask any breeder what their dogs are like they will say "oh there brilliant mate, get one", no breeder would say "there shit but have one anyway cos i want to sell um". Thats why im askin on here for people who have actually got or had one. Nigel is only one option anyway. Another is mallyfield. As i say im toying with the idea of getting a workin whippet. Havent decided where from yet though. Quote Link to post

Neal 1,874
My brother has two whippet bitches and the youngest was bred by Nigel Wallbank. He's over the moon with the bitch for general daytime mooching and he said Nigel's a decent bloke; easy to talk to. Quote Link to post
