Ferreting dog

Recommended Posts

Just an update

I have taken her out with an experienced 3/4 grey X 1/4 beddy bitch 3 yr old

she is now chasing and getting very close and she seems to be seeing rabbits from very far away

Just goes to show all she needed was to be shown by another dog

i really think this weekend i will slip her on her own because the older dog is beating her to the rabbit each time

i will post a few pics on here in the next couple of days so you can see what a nice pair of dogs they are

thanks for your feedback

shes a pup,let her be a pup, personally i wouldnt even have my dog out at that age.just take her out and have fun with her, dont rush things, good things come to those who wait.

can't add any more to that.

I agree with you to a certain extent, about not about lettinga 'not 8 month pup out'.....its good to have them out in controlled sessions and good do should be showing a bit of interest at 8 months.........................no one wants to spend time on a cabbage............

Some do switch on quicker than others...........but to hear that another memebr has the same problem from the same litter does sounds suss to me.................

have you tried taking the dog ferreting , only when you net the holes do not peg your nets , that way the dog gets to chase a rabbit tangled up in the net .......easy catch......good confidence builder... :victory:
