Rats under the floor boards

Recommended Posts

One day last week my terrier started to mark the floor boards in the corner of my living room...

since then she has marked again at various places in the same room, and i have seen rats on one of my bird feeders outside...

Now nexts door (terraced house) lives like a tramp, i aint had no problems with him in the past, he keeps himself to himself, but he

lives on his own and his house is filthy with old food on plates and so on...im pretty sure thay have entered his house and have got under his floor

and now are under mine....

My Russell is going made at night, constantly walking round the skirting boards..any constructive ideas lads...and please dont say knock out the neighbour or crap like that...

pull up some of the floor boards for a night and you + your russel and maybe a ferret go have some fun, theres also no harm in offering to give your neighbour a hand once in a while, sounds like hes fallen on hard times for whatever reason... alcoholism etc, no harm in offering to help him tidy up (tactfully)

spoken like a true non pest controller, so what bait/poison is there, that rats wont die from :hmm:

far better using either live catch traps, or mk4 fenn traps baited with peanut butter

Personally, I'd get a professional pest controller in. It's OK fecking about with a few rats in a compost heap at the bottom of the garden or large scale ratting on a farm, but these rats are in your home around yourself and your family. I'm sure that nobody has to point out that they are trailing piss everywhere they go with the risk of spreading something nasty. Sooner or later they'll probably find a way into your house from under the floor.

If you live in a council place, they'll probably not charge you for the visit of a pest controller. Mine don't anyway.

ok iam no rat man,but the poison they used in mine was the one that took the rat inquest for water,

oh and the authoritys and the controllers tried all the traps live and dead ones and that DID NOT cure the problem

Ignore stubby mate most of the site knew what you meant he just thinks he is above everyone on here if they dont do it for a living!!

As the rats are under floorboards i doubt cage traps would fit under them so poison would be the best option but as said call in someone in the know or give stubby a call and he can show us all how its done in a thread lol!!

I keep hearing about this 'wonder poison' that causes rats to seek out water, but everyone who mentions it is unable to name it.

The fact is, there is NO rodenticide approved in the UK that has that effect on rodents.

Good advice from Maltenby there; get in a professional and don't risk your health.

The problem with poison is if they die under your floorboards your house will smell like a sewer for days as they decompose , get yourself a new hoover ..................................and give the bloke next door your old 1
