Hi all what would say the is the best dried food for your ferret

Hello and welcome mate ,use the search at the right hand side top of the page as this has been done a few times already .But my view i wouldn't feed it to my ferrets

If your going to feed a dry food diet then i am led to believe that vitalin is one of the premium brands .. there are others like chudleys & ferret complete. prices vary considerably depending on brand... its not advisable to feed cheap cat biscuits as they tend to be soya based protein & ferrets need a meat protein diet

 

I am not a fan of dry food personally & use meat for mine .. whole carcass is preferable if you can get it ... some people use doc's or mince . chicken wings etc

 

theres nothing in the rule book that sates you cant supply a little of both dry & meat .. :thumbs: don't forget easy access to water as well & fresh every day

Normaly give ours fur and feather but in the summer when its very hot or if we run out of fresh meat we use chudleys dry used to use james wellbeloved but the price just got silly in the end so changed to chudleys the ferrets dont seem to mind they are looking and working well so will stick with that

alpha ferret feast is good i feed it to mine.. i give £16:00 for a 10 kilo bag

Alpha is OK,, James Wellbeloved is good as well...Chudleys is shite. JMHO

 

Have to say, I like it and have had a few ferrets that preffered it to meat!!

Keeps the court cleaner in summer in my opinion as well. Firm stools and less flies.

 

Don`t be shy to use it,,,plenty on here wont and will tell you not to but plenty that know ferrets will appreciate it`s usefullness and benifits.

I feed mine vitalin and whatever else I can get, normally alpha.

They get raw meat aswell and odd egg or cat milk.

Dry food is better than feeding them wet cat food or bread & milk IMO. Mine do well onnit

they all seem healthy.

it's ok giving your ferret's whole rabbit's,minced up meat in the winter month's when it will keep a day or two because it's cold. but you see how long it take's a fly to find raw meat in the summer month's an lay a few eggs on it for your ferret to eat.. atb

if you give them freash rabbit or mince in the summer do it at last light when the flies are less also remember to take the leftovers out 1st thing in the morning

i feed csj,and chudleys, with a bit of raw flesh,ferrets doing well on it,but dont feed dry too ad lib,or ferrets put weight on quickly

i feed mine on a diet of cat biscut but a few times a week they will get a whole rabbit pigeon etc etc
