Lurcher VS Whippet

Recommended Posts

Ducky Poo - I think there are still some very good whippets about and on here.

OP - I would consider looking for something worker x worker bred doing what you want your dog to do.

Hancocks have bred some good dogs but also some shit. Granted, all litters can throw shit pups. However i reckon the percentage of dogs that turn out shit from hancocks is much greater than that of worker x worker breeding. Obviously this could never be proven but just my view on things.

My father in law worked and bred whippets. He used to call my lurchers "mongrels" and generally take the piss (! as father in laws do!!)   5 years later he doesn't own one whippet - but has 4 lurche

lurcher all the way

What an open question mate.   What do you want from the dog mate? Daytime mooching and lamping? Just lamping? Ferreting?   Assuming you want something small? What sort of ground do you run? Big fi

for your needs and land...a well bred colliexgrey would do you perfect :). My old dog was a colliexgrey and my current dog is colliexgreyxbullxgrey and for rabbits (although they are not all like this) is extremley hard mouthed. I colliexgrey can (in some cases, although i wouldnt know :whistling: ) can take somthing a little bigger is you desire

Best of luck

you can get a lurcher whipet x game nd working stock or any lurcher x pup working stock for£100 or less in most adds, try getting a whippet for that price, most whippets are too skinny nd cost to much for what they are; a bit faster than a lurcher, but will cost you more in vet bills,in my veiw,, how fast do you need to catch a rabbit nd at what price?.am sure you can ask for a good working line of lurcher close to you on here, leave the whippets to the track men who can pay top price for them, atb mick
