runforyourlife 361
listen to the above mate! Dont get a Hancock... And if your goin to get a collie x get a bearded collie... Hardier dog, with a bit more brain..c There are still some working beardie's in cumbria. Quote Link to post
robbielisa 11
hiya mate, i've had my first lurcher now for 18 months ( collie/whippet/grey ) and she does all i ask of her. pretty lively off the blocks and a very powerful runner too. also a very high prey drive. I know i've nothing to compare her too but very happy with this cross Quote Link to post
Teddd 84
a purpose bred lurcher will go alot further than one a thoses silly whippet things, and in most cases cost a 1/4 of the price to buy, whippets have had there day and the majority nowadays are scrawny show bred shite.....lurcher all the way Quote Link to post
stoaty 171
Had collie crosses and whippets and I think a lot of people sell the working bred whippet short my old lad is 15 now and knocked over a rat last year their an easy dog to live with and will take most things you want. However I would like a beardie cross sometime in the future along with a beddy cross but nowt wrong with either just take your time and get the pup you want and don't be rushed into buying the 1st thing you see Stoaty Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
Hi guys, by the looks of things im going to give Hancock Lurchers a call they seem to have a great reputation! And they're only two and a half hours down the road. Anyone know their prices roughly? PM please Thanks ATB NWH I'd continue with your research and not get a pup because its conviniently close. Take your time and wait for a collie/grey pup from a working dog, a lot of lads will have had good dogs from Hancock BUT when you breed large numbers your going to get a few cracking workers, but in the bulk dogs bred from those that spend there life on a chain are not for me....
