4 hrs with out a slip

Im scratching my head here boys,set off at 7pm to some ground that holds a few rabs,took my 6yr old bitch and her 8mth old daughter.it was time to bring on the pup as i always do,not to early no to late.

hour and half shining without a rabbit.on to the next place,making sure i was quiet with gates and fences and the same here ,not a rabbit to be seen.The old bitch on her back legs evry shine but not a red eye anywhere.

drove out to a place im sure i'd get some runs but the same here. Back in the motor feeling really disheartened that i got a well bred bitch pup to learn and nowt on the land to llearn her,it was like i was half hour behind someone else lamping. ive run this ground for years and put game infront of my dogs without fail.it makes you think wether to raise your next lamp dog or sell it to someone with game on their patch. anyone else having the same lack off stuff on their ground...............4/1/2 hrs without a run..........................steve

Weird but it happens, we went on some permission last week that is always good for a few bunnies, but none about, at all and nobody had been on before us.......

i went out last week and got 13 then went a few days later got 4 there was alot more out but they were all one the edge then went the night before last and dident even see 4 rabbits. i think it just depends on the night.

They aren't out every night.

 

I've got a bit that is polluted with rabbits. Think nothing of 20 slips in 2 or 3 fields.

But go out some nights and you only see a handfull.

 

Its all about knowing your land and quarry(and a good weather forecast helps).

 

Either that or someone was genuinely out 30 mins before you. Lol.

it happens like that sometimes mate we walk miles and will only get one or two slips but its all worth it juat to see the dogs doing what they where bred for.

Rabbits are a bit thin on the ground where i usually go.Was out for 3 hours last night and had 1 run on a rabbit.Plenty of reds as the council refuse tip is near by.

iput up a simular post a while back same thing happened to me and i was gate hopping in car still no rabbits about where there used to be loads.

Last year there were 25-30 rabbits in one field where i go this year you would be lucky to see 2 no matter what time of night you go, vhd,mixy hopfuly they will be back later this year.

Leave the ferrets at home

been the same down this way was out last night not a bunny to be seen normally see a few long ears aswell but not a sausage to light me thinks on the plus side stoped for a shine on the way home as you do gets out of the car walks to the gate click lamp on stareing right at me no more than 15 yards at least 20 roe deer i could of rugby tackled one the f##kers lol

or you could be lamping to often on the same piece of land and everything has been made lamp shy and just move off before you get to that field, sounds that way from what you've wrote
