chickenman 4
I am looking for a dog to use for follow up of shot and wounded deer when I go stalking, the breed I was looking at was a Black Lab. but after some research I have found that one of my favourite dogs, Border Terrier is actually used extentsively in Sweden for deer follow up. Do any of you know of anyone who has trained one for this work in the uk? or do any of you know of any breeders in Dorset,Hants or Wiltshire please? Pete Quote Link to post

Pete Borders are very easy to train and very intelligent, a keeper i know uses his but she is now getting on abit so one of his labs now gets used more than the border, unless he is on his early round on the quad because the border rides shotgun. I have also used my border BUT have to use a long leash as if theres a fox about she will follow that instead.[ my fault as we also use her for wounded fox follow up when lamping] Quote Link to post
