whip x grey 276
i like seeing lurchers,,,going round the track,,,keeping lurcher,s on there toe,s in summer months,,,,,not all chase at 1st ,,but after a few trails there away and the grehound track give,s the owner a choice to the distance the owner wants to run ( 300/500/ or even 1km ) so they can get a good run,,wotever owners decide i know sowhat on here puts on lurcher racing at highgate track in the late ,s ,,,i use to race a small 30lb fawn whip agasint lurcher,s,,,,and somtimes we use to bump into lurcher owners at thorton grey track giving there lurchers ,,some practice in summer months round track,,,,beats leving them in kennel,,,,at 1st there unsure ,,,but abit off practice,,,there,s no stopping the lurcher having a good run in the summer months Quote Link to post

vld 62
Just to keep those who are interested up to date - I've had an email tonight to say the 20th March date has been cancelled due to one of the organisers being ill, so next date is 10th April. Quote Link to post
boots 7
i take it thats down at ystrad track fella ........... Its Ellesmere Port Greyhound track mate. Once a month (usually first Sunday of month) in the Summer the Afghan club hire it out for them to have a lollop about (LOL - its actually really funny to watch them!) but they let lurchers/terriers and other breeds race too. Its a good laugh and sometimes you can have a mix of breeds racing and choose different length races - eg my lurchers have raced pure salukis over longer distances etc. could you pm me details when it starts this year thank you Quote Link to post
vld 62
For Sthelenshunter, boots and rob190364 Its on today register for races from 12noon with first race starting at 1pm - we'll probably get there about 12.30ish onwards. Rob not sure how old your dog is but they will let puppies over 6months race -I've checked as I'm going to let my little one have a race against his litter brother - will be nice to see how that dog is turning out. Then there is a range of races from 100m right through to the longer ones. The lurchers will be racing between the afghan recovery times so it can be abit tiresome waiting for races but its the onely one I know of around here so its still a good day out. Anyhow be nice to see you if you can make it. BTW they will let ANY BREED race so if you want to bring your terriers etc for a bit of a crack you can I think. Quote Link to post
