New Permission

Recommended Posts

Just a quick update. We went to meet the land owner today, and he has okayed us to shoot ther. We agreed to help out beating in the winter.

Its looking very good, although really muddy, as the majority of the land is at the bottom of a steep hill. I'm going over on Saturday after work for a mooch and a scout around, so fingers crossed!

Oh and on the way back we hit a pheasant with the van, which was swiftly dispatched with a twist of the neck.

Cheers

Good news and well done, its always who you know, all the best for the beating as youll get a free days game shooting normally. Roll on August :)

I've not been beating before, but will certainly look forward to the possible free day game shooting!!

Ok, SO today I finished work and headed straight for my new permission. Had a wander around the perimetre, Found at least one pigeon roost in a coppice where it looks like someone has been living rough! Boy are they going to get a surprise one day!!!

Saw a brace of hare but wasn't sure about the legality of shooting them, so I had a field craft honing stalk and tried to get as close as possible without scaring them away, and was rather pleased with myself when they buggered off at about 20yrds.

Also saw a couple of Roe, but they were obviously a BIG no no.

Oh and also got the poop scared out of me when I nearly stepped on a hen pheasant and she explosivley broke cover about a foot from my left leg. (NOTE: CAMO WORKS :victory:

I spent about 2 hours there but didn't actually shoot anything. But wasn't really expecting to.

Cheers
