cooper101 86
Had a cracking start to my season with blue my 3/4 grey x 1/4 collie, but disaster struck and he tore his front leg and was out for a while, after a period recovering he was back out doing the buisness and bang disaster strikes again, this time a fractured leg so I knew my season was over!! I got a deerhound x pup that I have been training but never thought he would be ready to start this season!boy was I wrong, I took him ferreting on sat he bagged his first bunny that slipped the net after a cracking chase! Retrive was not 100percent as he was a little reluctant to let his prize go but I'll work on that! Anyways thought I would lift all the nets at the next set a get him another chase and It came almost as quickly as the ferret went down, number 2 bagged!! Took him for a quick shine last night wasn't the best of nights as I'm sure most of you know but I knew I would find at least 1 bunny! And I did there he was as I came over the brow of the hill, so I slip the pup and after a relativly effortless chase he bagged his first lamped rabbit! Just thought I'd share my good weekend with you all Quote Link to post

cooper101 86
Bloddy hell ya collie lurcher hasn't had much luck this season. Hows he beeen on the lamp? if i recall was he getting a bit fussy with his runs. yeah tell me about it !! yeah end of last season he started getting picky about the runs, gave him the summer off and he was back to his old self again, in fact even more keen to get to them, this could also be down to the fact i have the puppy at my side aswell when we are lamping but whatever it was he was playing at hes forgotten again thankfully! then he goes and gets smashed up!! hey ho thats the way it happens sometimes!! collie/lurcher yeah hes fine!! still thinks he can do as he likes on it, only allowed to give him 10mins walking a day so hes extra full of energy , as for the pup hes 10 months, was'nt going to do anything with him this season apart from what i have been doing like taking him along and letting him watch. But as my colliex is injured he got his first opportunity to bag his first one sooner than expected!! second one was more for fun and he came good, and the quick shine out was me pushing my luck Tyla yeah definatly me and sooty will tag along and run a couple of bunnies here and there!! dont want to push him to hard to early made that mistake last time Quote Link to post
