ftm 3,357
went out to a new bit of land the other day [via magpie mayhem] as the farmer has told a few of his friends about our foray on his land. any way my mate couldnt make it so i set off with the gun and dog[sounds like a pub name lol] after a brief chat with the land owner i was left to my own devices ,the land only cosisted of two fields and a small wood / shrubbery behind a few out buildings.i spotted a woody 30 yds away but couldnt get a clear shot so sneakedbehind the buildings and got to about 20yds with a nice clear shot i poked the gun thru a broken elder bush and placed the cross hairs on the target and squeezed the trigger it folded like a glove perfectly dead. i sent the dog out for it and it was in my hand in no time,i saw nowt for ages and was about to call it a day when i heard a magpie cackle it was looking down at a cat and hadnt noticed me! i slowly lifted the rapid and it was history the cat legged it as the magpie fell to close for comfort,i sent the dog to retrieve and as she was picking it up 3 more magoies turned up and started to mob the dog! well i couldnt be having that boys so i shot two before the other one flew off . the dog done her job and 3 magpies lay by my feet i managed 2 more woodies before calling it a day,the landowner was pleased and invited me back any time i wanted ,so a canny afternoon in the end atb billy Quote Link to post
