breeding

had it happen once with a bitch 4mths after whelping, to say it caught me off guard is an understatement!

edited to add; didnt breed her, wouldnt breed a litter that close to the last one, not unless i had a very very good reason for it.

would a bitch come back into season if she had a litter 3 months ago

she is a twice yearly bitch but would it be to much for her

thanks for looking

shina

If she is a twice yearly bitch, then coming into season 3 months after having pups is only a few weeks early.

Would what be too much for her?

what type of dog is she??? A twice yearly in season bitch should come into season 4months after a litter, yours has come in a little early as some do, what do you mean would it be too much??? surely you are not thinking of breeding the bitch again that soon???????????

I didnt think he was planning on covering her himself haha but ya never know i suppose we say im having the bitch covered or im covering the bitch up here maybe picked me up wrong. Either way ill have left prity much 2 year between my bitchs last litter which was her first and her next one that will be her last and iv had 3 or 4 boys waiting since she was last on heat but i decided id rather get the seasons work out her than the litter at the time just cause a couple people wanted pups wasnt enough for me i breed mine when im ready and certainly not with a couple months between litters .

A broken toe is a simple injury have the toe of and the dog will still run the same i know a few lads who have handy bullxs with toe's missing also plenty decent greyhounds still going with a toe of so the bitch deserves a bit more than just kennel space as a brood bitch. If the bitch is in season she can and will be coverable whether there was 6 months or 6 weeks between her seasons .

If your unsure best advice to give is get her the hormone jab that way she or your males if you choose to do them instead cannot be caught.Personally a toe will heal and if not then have it off and she will run just fine as stated above.Either that or keep her indoors and the rest outside. Also a pair of kids shorts helps protect her honour when you walk her
