Irish Lurcher 1,013
Hi all Just a quick update on my pup. As this is my first Springer to train I have been reading a lot on the methods used in bringing on such a pup. I have her sitting on command with my hand and whistle, I have her on the recall, and she is spot on with her retrieving. Apart from what I am doing now, is there anything that I could or should be doing. Quote Link to post

Irish Lurcher 1,013
Thanks for the replies. I now plan to allow her enjoy the next couple of months, with a little reminder of her training as we proceed. I was anxious to have some form of basic commands in her as a pup, she will sit on command, her recall is spot on, and her retrieve is spot on, she still things we are playing a game at the moment. Now I am eager to let the months roll on and bring her to the next stage of her training. She is just five months old and she has so far been a treat to have around the yard. Quote Link to post

She looks a cracker but dont be too eager to progress her training. Time spent on the basics now will save you frustration and headaches later. Quote Link to post
