john robbo 30
A happy chappie (with breeze) after a doe made the tree line at beyond dusk. She made a great track down and I finnished her off (the deer not the dog). and the video footage. Due to a bussiness trip going tits up I am now free to stalk 16th-20th feb. Quote Link to post

kyle304 5
Good sport had by all by the looks of things. From the video theres plenty of roe to be getting at isn't there, even better when the chance of a shot is being offered to so many people, bet you nobody feels they were left short changed. Pitty your man at the end missed the chance at the trebble, the excitement of the previous two had got to him it seems lol. Some big does there aswell, and looks like you did the one with the over grown hooves a big favour, happy hunting. Quote Link to post

john robbo 30
Should have been on my holiday today (pig shooting in Bavaria, which went tits up),(then should have had paul down but the weather was so crap last night I put him off) so having a few days off to put high seats up and sort out some doe boxes. Any hows my body clock woke me up this morning so I thought I'd call in on the nursery I look after (alone Mal hads done his back chewing with a high seat on friday)(get well for the end of the week fella, we have some deer to cull in Norfolk). So I arrived and looked in MY usual field only slots and no deer, so over the road onto the ground Mal usually stalks, Nothing till near the end when a last glass exposed 4 deer 2 big bucks and 2 does eating the new shoots. So onto the sticks I clicked on the red dot on my varipoint and settled the rifle on the sticks. I had to wait a wee while for the doe to expose her flank I than put the dot on her heart and then I unleashed the 139 privvi sp, she stood up on her front feet kicking her back legs out almost verticle and ran 10m's before expireing on the hoof. The other 3 startled and ran about 40m's parralell to me. They were still within my safe shot area but the doe was stood infront of the biggest buck. I had reloaded and stood still on the sticks for about 7-8 minutes before she stepped to the left and away from the buck. I re-aquired her chest slid off the saftey and repeated the excersise once more. She feel dead to shot. So I dragged one to the other after making sure they were dead and making my rifle safe. Had a photo or 2, and began to gralloch the beasts. It was evident from the deers reactions the shots were good. The gralloch agreed with this. My 6.5 is set up for clients so I have to wear the mod and it is useful on this venue, I use factory ammo (privvi)(£10 a box(a little dearer now)) through it for insurance needs. But I have seen so many clients kill so many deer with this outfit I no longer hand load for it for my own use. It just loves this ammo in 139 and 156. Quote Link to post
