huntinglover 2
fairly big trap considering you would only catch one bird at a time but interesting Quote Link to post

John Keswick 119
The old sparrowhawk traps were bit different from that but worked in a similar way. What todays larson traps are based on. Pity, i had a couple of old sparrowhawk traps but i trashed them as they were a bit rotten, wished i had kept the buggers now. Top opening lid but with a bottom compartment to keep some song birds in as live bait. Obviously when the hawk went in, he couldnt get to the bait, but i suspect that the bait had a short shelf life due to heart failure. The trap was rectangular in shape and bit higher than a larson trap. Quote Link to post
STUNTMAN 552
The Trapper use pigeons in the bottom and has caught retails in it Quote Link to post

STUNTMAN 552
PK- check the link out and I think mt bait cage was around 24"X24"[inchs] with the trap its self slightly bigger. Quote Link to post
JohnGalway 1,043
Handy looking yoke for catching a call bird for a larsen, minus the live bait obviously, nice and open for wary birds. Quote Link to post
