An Afternoon Out With Pianoman...

Recommended Posts

Thanks again for the comments, fellas

I've only seen a small part of Simon's shoot but from what I have seen it really is a cracking spot with what seems like a bit of everything.

There's the river Went down in the valley, loads of varied woodland, open fields and pasture's with miles of hedgerows running through them and the farm itself with all the surounding buildings.

Now then, about this picture thing...... Both Zini, Davyt63 and Phantom have tried to help me out on this but I just can't get my cluncky old laptop to talk to Photobucket and the like and Simon's in the same boat as me.....

What I'll do next time is to take some photos and email them to one of you guys, if you'd be kind enough to post them for me??

Cheers

hi Andy

all you have to do is

open a Photobucket account "its free!"

once you have downloaded them to your PC,then you upload from your PC(documents/pictures files) via a upload option in Photobucket.then you just copy and paste where you want them!!as easy as that!!

if you need me to talk you through it let me know!

regards

davy

Thanks, Davy

I tried to follow the instructions you, Si and Tony gave me but I just couldn't make it work.... :icon_redface:

I'll give you a ring the next time so maybe you can hold my hand while I try to get my head around it, I really am sh*te with technology :wallbash:

I've got your mobile number but if you'd PM me your landline it'd help 'cos it may well take a while!!

Cheers, Davy

Hi, folks.   I got round to Simon's at mid day to the normal warm welcome and a very welcome mug of coffee. The weather wasn't looking too good but we set off to Simon's permission. There's a track

Thanks Andy you are welcome anytime to shoot in this truly beautiful bit of God's county with me mate. The Went valley and surrounding fields is what every shooter wishes for in a permission of his

Very good read there from you both lads,   I think it's great that this section get out together and become good friends.   There is some quality lads in this section, true gents and talented shoo

it does really sound a great permission simon your so lucky to have had this for many many years and no dought you son will take the reins there one

day and he to will have many a great day hunting there,i live in somerset and everywhere you look there is great looking farmland but trying to get my first permission is like flogging a dead horse, ive tryed every thing, knocking on doors leaflets,i allways dress smartly,i leave them my card, etc

but still nothing, ive been trying for around a year and its getting very frustrating, when i here of all your great hunting trips on here im so envios,i would love to learn the ropes off an experianced hunter like you,im 47 and gagging to learn some hunting for vermin,i shall just keep trying and trying and trying.

regards

tony.

Hi Tony.

I'm so sorry to hear of your efforts to get yourself some decent permission of your own is not meeting with success but, keep at it fella. I just bloody blessed with this place of mine and Ian would give you the run of it if you were up here with Andy and me. The pheasant and game bird shooting syndicate the gamekeeper runs here will set you back nearly three hundred quid per day but I get the lot for nowt because I spend every spare day and night in the summer pest controlling on it and getting Josh properly coached for the job. The other farmers in the area know me as a reliable, thoroughly effective rifle shot and I get to shoot the land, wherever it is getting infested throughout because nobody else is bothering with the rabbits, pidgeons and rats.

Given the choice between game birds with a 12-bore at daily rates, or pests with an air rifle for nothing, I know where my breads' buttered with jam on it!

Keep on trying Tony mate, you'll get there with persistence and a bit of humour. Try finding the pubs where the farmers drink and get down there, get 'em in conversation over a pint and see what you get. They can be a funny, insular lot with some of them but, once you gain their trust and show that you are not going to make a nuisance of yourself, they'll come round.

All the best with that Tony.

Don't worry about it, Tony, only you can see that, no one else can.

It's just if you've been a bad lad and one of the mods felt the need to slap your wrists, the bar would start to fill up :angel:
