bedlington whippet or whippet

Recommended Posts

Its gonna be down to your preference then mate. Most lurchers will enjoy a bit of mooching and do you proud.

Personally I just don't like beddys. Don't like collie cross either. But thats just me.

A beddy whip would be sound for what you want. So would a pure whippet. I love a nice workin whippet.

I've got a sal/whip/grey. He is such a character and a great loyal dog. Stubborn as feck. But great all the same and very intelligent.

Everyone will make different suggestions mate.

Either. Good whip will do all a beddy/whip will. A 3/4 might have a better coat than a pure, but might lose a tad of pace. Your call mate - depends on what the best litter was - i'd worry less about specific breeding and more about finding a good working strain.

Its refreshing to see someone thinking about what dog they want. And whilst, correctly, alot of people say worker-worker is the way to go, I don't think it is unreasonable to want a particular breeding or "look".

If you do go down the pure whippet line then go for genuine workers, there are some crackers out there.

Good luck,

Gaz.

Let us know how you go on.

I wanted a beddy whippet for years, then decided on pure whippet, then came across whippet/grey and thought the extra size would come in handy.

Then I got offered a sal/whip/grey pup which I couldn't resist. He is my first lurcher and 5 months old. Hoping he makes a good all rounder.
