some dogs will just not let a dog in others lie back and poach the game ,had dogs if your ouit a mooch let the younger dog do the work and then blast through and steal the catch , saw some dogs chase hares catch a few then when a big roe got up made other younger dogs look second rate ,better on there own unless twos needed for a job or an area were twos better

Hi when runing a pair of dogs pre-ban.Witch one do you think had the better strike rate.The faster dog for making its quarry turn.Or the slitely slower one being there as it did so .Would like to here your opinions.atb. Catcher.

Just to throw this into the mix. Two dogs who regularly run/hunt together, will often play off their different running styles/abilities to make a catch. I.e run clever - one dog turning the quarry back into the other hanging back, or one running wide to bring into back in. Just like other pack hunters would do i.e lion/wolf.

if your after numbers on bigger game 1 2 doesnt matter as long as there down quick on to the next but i prefer dogs with pace slow type no good for fast winter wheat and big slips , never had a slow dog since my half cross out of hanckock twenty years ago like them to be up and at them , as you dont get two many chances and if there bred [bANNED TEXT] theyl soon learn ,had some clever dogs who wouldnt let game in the hedge or wood had otheres full tilt and knock them of there run , if your after big bags a pair who work together or one whose fast other controls its speed youll double your bag some nites dogs can learn bad habits runing doubled etc all depends what you wnt out of them i like to se adog on his own working his qaurry only way to know if your dogs coursing properly or chaseing
