(animal tranquilisers) Put out some food loaded with them and make sure that someone stays in contact with the dog until he succombes: I realise it could be a bit dodgy if he ran off and esacaped from view before they took effect though. Honestly can't think of anything else, apart from trapping him. Bait a tent, like I said before, and have someone hidden nearby with the net on the tent attached to a pice of long string: wait until he's inside then drop the net. Try the firearms dept in manchester, they will know who is holding one locally, or the local vet, as the tranquiliser is a drug that can only be obtained with a signature from the vet. Daren't try ACPs until we have him confined somewhere with at least 8' fence! - I have followed this dog for three uninterrupted miles doing between 25-35 mph, so don't know how we could stay in contact with him. Ossie 11 Posted February 2, 2007 Report Share Posted February 2, 2007 (edited) dunno what i'd do if my boy went missing... go mental i reckon, he's about the only thing that keeps me sane! i know all my friends would be devastated too as they all love the mad bugger to bits, and take turns staying at mine to look after him when i have to go away (they all fight over it!). i'd probably get them all round, dose em with speed so they wouldn't need to sleep for a while, and send them out armed with choccy biscuits & a lead... one of them is a bit of a tech-wizard, so i'de get him to rig up a video camera on a trip wire or motion sensor, so if mutt turned up where it was set, we'd know & be able to hot-foot it down there. or i'd tie up a bitch in heat in a barn near where he'd been most regularly seen. he's a randy little bugger, and i've never met a dog that could resist that bait. and i probably wouldn't try to give up smoking! keep at it lurcherbitch, once you're past the third day it's supposed to get easier! Is there a barn or anything nearby? I am sure he would be able to smell a cooked chicken from a mile away so could he not be fed into a barn, or at least closer to a barn day by day, THEN rig the door so it slams shut when the dog stops on a plate or pulls a baited line. It seems to me that this could be the only way you are ever going to get near him. I wish i livesd closer cos i would certainly join up the chase. Does he not have anything to do with other dogs/??? he is obviously eating something somewhere...... dogs are creatures of habit and i bet he eats in the same place at the same time (night) day after day...... good luck and please keep us all informed Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Darcy this bugger has broke every rule in the book. When we finaly think we have him in a routine the sod changes.....BUT we heard from another concerned member of this board today who was getting calls about him but didnt tell us cause he thought we knew, (thanks for dinner, to that member). I have never known a dog like it. But we have a plan.....with ditch's help we have a plan. I have never known a dog to be so bloody .......not like a dog, in my life. Oy darcy.......bet you could write a book on this bugger Your right about him being a survivor.he is doing a great job.x But to the doubters, my own dog sheya survived on the street for a year befor she was caught. Dont you think it would be worth while trying to "feed" him into a barn/outbuilding/shed and then letting the dog trip his own trap...so to speak?... or is it not as simple as that. ? the places he may be feeding may not be anywhere near the places he is seen in the daytime?....goodluck with him... this one sounds like a proper challenge... if theres anythign i can do...just let me know...
