Cold Ethyl 63
When did it happen? If he has a high tempreture could be needing antibiotics
CarraghsGem 92
just keep him warm and in a quiet enviroment, sounds like hes in shock, he'll come round soon enough, keep an eye on his wound that it doesnt become infected, wet food perhaps as his face will be sore for a few days, when it starts to heal it will get itchy as well so some vaseline to soothe it will help as well

skycat 6,173
Did you glue the wound yourself? And if you did, did you thoroughly clean it with something like Hibiscrub first? Home treatment is fine if you know what you are doing, but it is possible you have sealed in infection (bacteria) which are now rampaging through the dog's body making him feel really ill. If there is swelling under his ears at the back of his jaw bone these are glands which swell up when the dog is fighting and infection and it will almost certainly need antibiotics: a whole course of antibiotics, not just a couple of tablets or one injection. If it is a deep skin tear like a bite wound it will certainly be infected and shouldn't have been glued shut as there is now no way for the pus etc to drain from the wound. These sort of wounds need to be kept open and cleaned every day so they can drain naturally and heal from the inside rather than just closing the skin over damaged, bacteria filled tissue. It also helps if the dog is being fed an optimum (best of the best) diet as cheap grade food doesn't give a dog a good immune system with which to fight off infection.

ISKycat - I know this is a different thread but you gav me some advise last month about my dogs nose- will put some pics up of the improvement in my dogs nose after the advise you gave me- still along way to go but hair is growing back, which is more than can be said for any of the lotions, potions and pills the vet gave me over the years! STUNTMAN 552
When I'm trying to get one that is off his food, check the obvious then a shot of B-12 or B complex it gets the appetite going good. About 1ml per 50lbs. is what I do. Good luck!
