Favourite parts of the UK

Recommended Posts

So many different places for so many different reasons....

Theres still parts of East London i love in its own special way,the rawness and excitement etc.....Burnmouth up on the Scottish border is a place i love, infact theres a small layby on the a1 that looks down over the cliff on a house/farm ive had my eye on for years, beautiful air and scenery.

Went to a place called Forres up near Inverness some years ago the mrs fell in love with it and i ended up buying a small place there a stones throw from raf Kinloss but only managed to get up there a handful of times and ended up selling last year....unbelievable beauty....the highlands take some beating for scenery in my opinion though theres still a few places in Wales that are on my " to do " list.

In all honesty i dont think anywhere in the south comes close to the north for natural beauty.

Had a few nights out in East London , 1 pub Princess alice i think it was called was INTERESTING :icon_eek: , Dont take the piss Gnash but done the "Jack the Ripper" tour with the mrs and it was superb to be honest

I'd like to see more of north east england - northumberland / scottish borders area, never been there.

Not too far from me..... http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=4598

Supposedly a good site. The patrons come into my local and they all seem to come back every year.

without a doubt my hart belongs to wales where i was born and bred ( gods country

but i long to get back to the western isles i first visited 36years ago a magic trip driving

through the night and arriving at the first ferry at the kyles of lochalsh then thrashing the

car across the isle of sky to catch the next ferry ( M.V Hebrides ) to tarbet on the isle of

harris the land that time has forgotten

first impression what have done where have all the trees gone wheres all the grass gone where

are all the people then as i drove across the island and arrived on the west coast of the island

i was greeted to the most beautiful beaches you will ever set eyes upon we camped in the sand

dunes on a beach called horgaboost and spent the next two weeks shooting and fishing first night

with the need to feed ourselves i dug some worms with my hands and fished the incoming tide on

the beach leaving after about 2 hours with 4 plaice between 1 and 2lbs in weight back to tent

cleaned filleted and cooked in oatmeal fried in butter

next shock to the system got up in the morning ( Sunday ) right we will have a drive around

pick up some petrol and supplies from the local shops

wrong nearest shop the clachan in leverburgh i spoke to a local who explained it was gods day

no shops no petrol so no food we limped back to the tent trying to save petrol having had it

explained to me that god would not look favorably on those who broke the sabbath i decided the

time to gather food was after dark so out with the lamp 1 hour and 3 rabbits later back to the

tent fore a rabbit supper

then monday morning down to the clachan for food and petrol about 4 miles drive car now stocked

up with food i asked were i could get petrol i was directed to the RODEL HOTEL that had a petrol

pump we parked the car up and enquired within as the keys for the pump were in the bar we thought

a drink was called for

meeting the locals was the best part they without doubt the friendliest most genuine people i have

met for a long time and 32yrs later still look forward to my two weeks in paradise as this post could end up as a book i will stop now

For scenery anywhere from Stirling upwards. My favourite spots are the hills looking over stirling carse and the Tomintoul road up by Inverness.

For game...well thats a secret :whistling:

I am lucky enough to live and work in one of the most picturesque areas of Scotland
