gnasher16 30,535
So many different places for so many different reasons.... Theres still parts of East London i love in its own special way,the rawness and excitement etc.....Burnmouth up on the Scottish border is a place i love, infact theres a small layby on the a1 that looks down over the cliff on a house/farm ive had my eye on for years, beautiful air and scenery. Went to a place called Forres up near Inverness some years ago the mrs fell in love with it and i ended up buying a small place there a stones throw from raf Kinloss but only managed to get up there a handful of times and ended up selling last year....unbelievable beauty....the highlands take some beating for scenery in my opinion though theres still a few places in Wales that are on my " to do " list. In all honesty i dont think anywhere in the south comes close to the north for natural beauty.

Malt 379
My home county of Pembrokeshire takes some beating for it's stunning coastal scenery and tranquil countryside, but if I had to pick one place here as a favourite it would be the Preseli mountains & the surrounding areas. They're more hills than mountains really, but there is a real sense of an ancient, wild, spiritual nature there that keeps calling to you once you've been there. It is the place where they dug the stonehenge bluestones from. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preseli_hills I like other parts of the country too, the vast uninhabited areas in Mid Wales, the Scottish highlands & The north Devon coast and moors. The one thing that they have all got in common is that there is plenty of natural beauty, and very few people.

TOMO 26,963
I've travelled over almost all of England, Wales and Scotland, never Ireland unfortunately but what are your favourite places and why....... For me i love my home county of Lincolnshire, we have the rolling wolds, the coastline and the wide open fens, I love walking the dogs on a remote beach in a summer evening and swimming in the sea, visiting country pubs and somehow the pace of life seems slower here. I also love East Anglia, very similar to Lincolnshire and it has a relaxed feel and holds good memories. Scotland, and sorry my Caledonian cousins but for me Scotland starts at Perth , I have always found the highlands, especially around Inverness and Sutherland holds a magical quality and when im there i totally relax and switch off, seeing the huge herds of red deer, eagles soaring above the snow capped mountains and walking through remote glens and forests with the dogs, just solitude and nature... In Wales i love the south as again its quiet, has strong traditions and scenery, North Wales holds childhood memories, my dad was born in Bethesda near Bangor and we spent caravan holidays there as a child..... What about yours...... alot of seals on the east coast swimming in the sea i suppose its no suprise i love the yorkshire dales,, i can never get my head round how long it must have took to build those dry stone walls,,, some of them go near vertical up the fells. like simo i have been fortunate to see a good bit of the uk ,, the highlands and west coast islands are stunning,,,, as are parts of devon and cornwall
