Just give the command and if shes still pulling pull her back. If she instantly pulls again turn around and walk in a random direction. Most importantly is lots of praise when shes doing it right.

 

Edit: Yes choose a different word. Any short 1 syllable word is ideal.

hi guys was wondering which is the best way to teach to heal pups only 12 weeks but want her healing before shes big enough to pull me around :p

her name is teal so should i change the word heal to something different because it sounds like her name.?

I don't think you can start too early with simple commands like heal - but keep the training sessions fun and short......and reward the pup whe he gets it right :thumbs:

if u live in the country pal just take it everywer with you [bANNED TEXT] out on walks pick it up [bANNED TEXT] by roads or danger that age will learn to follow you [bANNED TEXT] mite be able to explain a bit beter off the lead as much as poss only my opinion tho :thumbs:

Hi pal,use a slip lead to walk your dog and when it pulls the lead will go tight creating alot of pressure around the dogs neck,then pull her back while giving the heal command and at the same time(when shes at heal and not pulling) allow the lead to loosen easing the pressure.the dog will soon realise that it is much more comfortble walking by your side at heal on a slack lead rather than chockin its self and dont forget to praise. good luck with the training

I agree with you mate but there's a big difference from letting a pup hear a few commands while out walking and trying to get a 12 week old pup " trained".
