Cammo Tape??

What is the best cammo tape for doing cammo on your rifles?

 

Does it mark the blueing?

Personally i would`nt use it as moisture has a tendancy to get underneath it . This can go un-detected and cause havoc on the action .

Hi John, as said above I wouldunt use it on the action, or at least not keep it on permanently, I'd use it on the scope, silencer etc placed that are not blued permanently if you wanted that effect.

In my opinon much better than the JP cammo tape as I always find the JP stuff is abit "light DPM" but this suff is like realtree in tape form with the benefit of the self sticking latex.

Hi Gaoler,

 

I use Hunters's No-Mark Gun and Bow tape.

 

It leaves no mark anywhere on the gun.

 

It cost me £7 for a roll.

Nice neat job there Owen.

 

I would recommend not putting anything on the metal parts of the rifle. As Buster says, it will trap moisture against the metalwork and will cause all sorts of issues with corrosion. It's virtually impossible to ensure that it's properly dry underneath the tape.

 

If you really need to camouflage the rifle, then either a rifle sock, or a bit of scrim net with some dyed fabric strips (a "gun ghillie suit" if you like") is a safer bet. Something that's easily removed and replaced anyway.

I got mine off ebay for 99p think that price was a one off thing tho, dont know what name it is, its a cloth tape and its stretchy, and doesnt leave any gunk on the rifle, i check all the time for rust on the action but so far all seems fine

Iv got s neoprone cover formine if the camo ain't much cop I'll put tape over the neoprone and none of it touches the gun.and u can just slide it on and off when you want to oil or clean.
