Some police stations are equipped to check power, phone up and ask, say you were assured it was making under the legal limit but you want to make sure, failing that any good air rifle shop should be able to check, hang on think I know somewhere...

ARE YOU A COMPLETE MENTALIST!! really , are you ?? take it to a POLICE STATION!! really???

Yeh why not?? so that if it makes 12.1 ft lbs they can take it off him and offer a prosecution instead !! jeez.

That is possibly the worst bit of advice I`ve heard dished out on here yet,.

Surely the police would allow the gun to be taken to a gunsmith so it could be put back to being under strength, furthermore if it was only over by a fraction that could be put down to pellet variance? I don't think the police would have any problem confirming that somebody was legal rather than him to go out fire it then get done that way! Norfolk police are quite good about that sort of thing, they used to offer free checks and advice on air rifles, working with the shooters rather than against them!

Mole.... Please.... If you're not sure about what you're saying to folks with your 'advice', keep it to yourself

That's probably the single worst bit of 'advice' I've ever seen given out on here.

The police WILL!!!! confiscate the lads gun and he WILL!!!! get into shit loads of grief for owning an illegal firearm.

Rob.... You've got my number and I have a chronograph. Give me a ring and I'll do it for you.

Cheers.
