secretagentmole 1,701
Some police stations are equipped to check power, phone up and ask, say you were assured it was making under the legal limit but you want to make sure, failing that any good air rifle shop should be able to check, hang on think I know somewhere... Redbeck Have a word with these boys! Seeing as they are in Wakefield too.... Edited February 11, 2011 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post

hullhunter 219
i would not take it to a gun shop because if its over by law they have to confiscate it and hand it into the police. Quote Link to post

Redbeck Have a word with these boys! Seeing as they are in Wakefield too.... ARE YOU A COMPLETE MENTALIST!! really , are you ?? take it to a POLICE STATION!! really??? Yeh why not?? so that if it makes 12.1 ft lbs they can take it off him and offer a prosecution instead !! jeez. That is possibly the worst bit of advice I`ve heard dished out on here yet,. 2 Quote Link to post
rossi_j 99
Hey mate so glad you got that mate, well pleased for you, as for chrono, please dont take it to police or gun shop just incase as if its a touch over you wont walk out with it (i doubt it would be over but why risk it) Best of luck pal im sure someone will be happy to check it for you, im sure they will want a go aswel .atb. .ste. 1 Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Surely the police would allow the gun to be taken to a gunsmith so it could be put back to being under strength, furthermore if it was only over by a fraction that could be put down to pellet variance? I don't think the police would have any problem confirming that somebody was legal rather than him to go out fire it then get done that way! Norfolk police are quite good about that sort of thing, they used to offer free checks and advice on air rifles, working with the shooters rather than against them! Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
If I spoke out of turn I am sorry but I thought the police were there to check and help people stay legal That is what the BASC recommends as well, so if I speak out of turn with one of the major sport bodies in agreement... If you're not sure about what you're saying to folks with your 'advice', keep it to yourself That's probably the single worst bit of 'advice' I've ever seen given out on here. The police WILL!!!! confiscate the lads gun and he WILL!!!! get into shit loads of grief for owning an illegal firearm. Rob.... You've got my number and I have a chronograph. Give me a ring and I'll do it for you. Cheers. 3 Quote Link to post
