ianh 83
A few of you know me and my mate been struggling to find much to run the dogs on, its all our first seasons so were all learning massively. had a slow start due to me being injured and my dog was laid off earlyer on in season..... any way we have had few bunnys, no big bags but one or two here and there, and a couple of shot and retrieved long ears . but last night saw us begin the end of the season in style, been out a few hours and found nowt as per usual, lots of other lamps about. then right at other end of the field were, in we see something bigger , big rabbits , lamp off walk half way up the field, lamp on dogs see them, lamp off slip dogs, few seconds later lamp back on and dogs nearly on them, doubled up as first time. the dogs knew theyre capabilities and played it perfectly the smaller lighter dog put the pressure on from the side and kept it away from hedges, all the time the bullx hot on its tail, right back up to other end of field and bang job done! had to lend a hand but they did us so proud. never seen two more satisfied dogs as our two last night! only thing i can liken the feeling too is (being a fisherman) catching that 20lb pike you been after for ages! absolutley made up with them dogs ! and a big thankyou to all of you who have helped with advice and encouragement , bring on next season!!!!
