get it insured i been vets 3 times wi my lurcher 1 bill was 800 another was 1600 and the last was 2000 and they paid out everyone am insured with more than they are bang on!

£4400 for a lurcher if you wernt insured and paid that you would be off your head. You would hardly pay that sort money for top national horse or derby greyhound in uk or ireland neva mind a running lurcher. 50p for catridge or £30 to PTS!

do you expect them to do it for nowt? in uni for 5 years no life for 5 years, i think they earn it!

5 years of boozing and shagging, with half a dozen lectures a week.

If that's no life then I wish I never had a life!

Pet insurance is the worst thing to happen for dog owners.

As the the vets inflate the bills so the insurance will go up until very few people will be able to afford the insurance or pay each time.

Last time I went for my beddys allergy problems the vet started talking about allergy testing and all sorts of tests and I said you can forget me shelling out for that.

She said well haven't you got insurance then, just want to wring out every penny from dogs.

I have seen many times old people taken advantage on by vets, old dog on it's last legs being given all sorts of treatment when it should just be put down.

All they can see is a bunch of pound signs on the end of a lead.

No one is saying they should do it for nothing, and yes they go to uni,but that shouldnt be a reason for ripping people off.You can see that they are aswell, all you need to do is look at the prices of wormers and other medication online.5or 6 times the price in some cases.Another way you can see it,is with the vast diffrence in prices from vet to vets.been getting away with it for years and as we are a nation of dog lovers we just pay it and moan like the typical brit.Having said that thank god for the iternet save myself a lot on wormers and other stuff.only go to the vet if i really have to.Also going by some of the lads expirences with vets and thier guess work with dogs, god knows what they did at uni, certainly wasnt studying lurchers thats for sure.

No one wants them to do it for nothing, but just think if you had a electricion wire a plug for you and he charged you a £100 for it you would prob think the money was bigger than the job as well!. All any one is saying realy is fairs fair its to much for what was done, and is in most cases. I know a lad who had a lurcher only 6 months old fell and broke its leg. Strait to the vets x ray clean break he plastered it up several visits were made over the next few months the total vet bill for that was £1200 and it came out the other side of that with a limp and in the end he gave it away as a pet. You tell me thats fair!.
