Picatinny Rails

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm looking at getting a pulsar n550 sometime in the near future, however I dont want to limit myself to just having it on one of my rifles. Do you think its a wise idea to fit a picatinny rail to each of my rifles with quick release rings so that i can mount the n550 on any rifle and make use of the one shot zero it offers? With these rails and rings am I correct in thinking that the scope should fit back on with very little difference in zero? I know the n550 can be used as a day scope but i've already got reasonable day scopes and feel by using the n550 as a day scope will be a step backwards.

What are your opinions on this, any advice welcomed!

Has anyone else any views on this?

It is as Stalker says, i have used a day scope and swapped to a dedicated NV scope on one rifle, i used Warne Q/D Mounts and a picatinny rail, it worked well and i was around 1 to 2 click out every time i swapped the scopes, i also used a torque wrench to do the mounts up to the same setting every time but could never get it bang on, i was looking for nothing less than a 1" group at 150yards so it all comes down to how accurate you wish to be.
