Jonophilpott 0
I have got a Deben Mini Lamp and it came with a pouch and small 12v battery the brightness is ok... Ive got a slightly bigger 12v battery which i use for my hand held lamp when i connect that battery the Deben is sooooo much more brighter. Will this be ok? will the light handle it? Ive also heard you can upgrade to 100w bulb instead of the 75w is this correct? Thankyou Jono Quote Link to post
sako 23
Im no electrician but as long as both batteries are 12v no problem. Wouldnt like to say about the bulb, I suppose if it's that much hotter you could melt the plastic around the bulb or blow the fuse. If you need a brighter lamp just try changing the bulb and if it does kill the housing go get a deben max pro or something. You needed that brighter lamp anyway and you've got that spare bulb that burnt your last lamp Quote Link to post

Jonophilpott 0
Ok yeah well with the Bigger Battery it is just so much brighter that all... I guess rageardless of ampage on the battery the lamp will only Draw what it wants to anyways :/ ?? Quote Link to post
sako 23
Yes the amp of the battery will just tell you how long the battery will last depending on as you say the drain from the lamp.If your lamp uses 7amps an hour and your battery is 12v 7amps an hour you know your lamp will last an hour. Your battery has got "lazy" you've probably left it discharged, or kept charging it without draining it fully, or left it for too long and not topped it up by charging. The light then tends to yellow. I've had batteries which would be fine for 20 mins then the lamp would go yellow but the battery would still last for a couple of hours after. If the deben mini has 35w bulb I would definatly not try a 100w bulb. You might get away with a 50w but if they were meant for a higher watt bulb it would come with it from the manufacturer. If it does what you need just stick with it and use the brighter battery. Quote Link to post
