chalkedup 14
without the eu human rights this country would no doubt bring in more corrupt and stupid rules which we wouldnt be able to overturn i think it kind of normalises the laws although alot are stupid once we start giving away our rights even small ones that dont matter to us as individuals itl be a long slippery slope people need to start standing up for what they believe even if those laws dont effect you because the next rights you lose will
Richie10 345
do you honestly think that when someone gets put in clink they think to themselfs after a few months, fck i wish i could vote ?, ???????????????????????????????????????????????????? agreed if they could vote most probably wouldn't bother. The reason they should have the choice is so the government can't lock up all the Labour supporters for example the night before a general election. It might not happen in this country but it happens frequently on other countries and its a protection against this. How would you feel if you were imprisoned for a day just so you couldn't vote? Personally I think the system suggested by the EU court of human rights is an improvement. It removes the right to vote permanently from serious offenders. They should lock up the labour supporters if they want to vote them in again.
chalkedup 14
feck the court of human rights they should lose their right to vote the minute they get sent down lets say you go and grab some smoke tonight, your mate wants some too so you grab him a half and you have a half and your walking back with your 8 bags and you get nicked and charged with dealing when your not,so sent to prison, should you lose your right to vote? its not all pedo`s and rapists in prison
scothunter 12,609
I would imagine that the vast majority in prison dont vote anyway, whether locked up or not.reason they are fighting it just now,is just something to do.a change in thier mundane lifes being banged up.Ill start voting again when we actually get a party that is worth voting for.cause these days all partys dont do jack shit for the normal person on the street.its all for big businesses and in most cases to see what they can benefit for themselfs and thier millions tucked away.line thier pockets and protect thier assets is what is further most in thier minds.A more dishonest and greedy selfish people is the best way to describe politicians.Ok there are a few sweating over the expenses scandal and a cpl been jailed, but IMO those were just the ones who were stupid and didnt cover thier tracks well.how many got away with it and how much did they actually scam off public money.Oh and they take a moral stance on prisoners voting, half those c**ts should be in jail. stiggy 6
what i dont understand is how it would work ? if prisoners did vote who would they vote for? the area which they were in before nicked or the area they are banged up in? if it was the prison area it could be quite awkward for closely contested seats........ Ideation 8,216
Some of the folk locked up have way more brains than some of the idiots running about outside the walls. . . .
