Kay 3,709
Get in touch with ACAS Martin they will put you right on what the score is and as for signing on thats a joke .i went after my ex buggered off to see if i couldn't claim a little bit of help to top up my wages as i work 12 hours a week only & i met a brick wall because my lads 16 & working & paying me some board i couldn't claim anything.. not even a little bit of council tax reduction As for work there stuff all except jobs for people with that trade stuff i cant do or silly piddly jobs of 8 hours a week .. having 2 jobs means your messing about with paying far to much tax as the tax office are useless if i was a bloody foreigner the buggers would be handing me cash & the keys to a nice little bungalow

WILF 47,432
Do you work for a big company or a small company?......15 days money to a small company is a lot of money for no return, for a big company its pretty much f**k all so a bit hard on you I would say. Depends what type of work you do as well, if its manual, physical type work then I dont see what else you could have done (except maybe get your tooth took out on one of your 3 days a week off) but if your sitting at a desk then you were stronging it a bit with the ribs for 11 days. Dont know the details, but most firms know that pretty much everyone will march right round to the solicitors office for a claim up, so they must think they have a case.
rikjd 8
did you not have a contract with the firm which states what is acceptable absenteeism? if you have a contract they have to follow a set disciplinary procedure, how long did you work for the company? any less then 3 months and your outta luck, at the firm i work for you start on a six months probationary period they use it to their advantage all the time and nothign you can do because you've signed a contract agreeing. Good luck with the shite down the job centre, thankfully iv yet to be at their mercy. ATB rich

deka 7
you have a right to appeal , plus they should have followed procedure and issued a written warning before dismissal (ie cut your sickness down or you will be sacked) , they carnt just sack you by letter .
