lurcher and terrier together in same kennel

Recommended Posts

The big differance is a fight between two terrier isnt going to be as bad as between terrier and Lurcher.Mine doesnt care she will attack a lion if the mood suits the lurchers try to back off but shes mental and keeps holding on giving it her all.Lurcher versus terrier ends in either a seriously wounded or dead terrier and with vets charging what they do its not great.I nearly lost Blitz that was enough for me to decide never ever will i leave a terrier alone with a lurcher ever

For those that say 'wouldnt they just get on' - terriers are natural wind up merchants and altough not gaurenteed, it is VERY likely that at some point a fight will break out, over a chew, a bone, or

Not always so a lurcher will kill a terrier yeah but two terriers locked in a pen if they go at it the result can still be the same, there is not set rule for anything otherwise we would pen all dogs separate in 20 years ive had 3 gripes in kennels and all 3 from terrier penned with terrier never had 1 bit of trouble lurcher and terrier penned together, now that could go wrong at anytime my lurcher could kill my terrier tomorrow ye never know but i usualy pen dogs together on my judgement of there temprement

Never had a problem with a terrier and a lurcher in a kennel had more problems with terrier and terrier in a run,but i know my dogs temperaments and would not kennel an idiot with anything,i find the most argumentative dogs are those that aint getting what they want and spend most of there time sat in a run doing jack shit

i think your right there hedz mine get out on a good run at least once a day if not twice n not just round the block either and at the minute there personalities get on brilliantly but hearing these stories makes me think about it as i think too much of my dogs to put them in unnecessary risks when they will go through enough when working but suppose it could happen with any dogs that are together just because one a terrier and the other a lurcher dont necessarily mean they gonna act like that together n not get on but is it worth the risk. anyone else had experiance of the 2 together over a number of years and with more than 1 pair?
