Now, I have no interest in this other than that of a "long distance seller".

It seems Countrymans Weekly are quite keen to contact John Hubery, there's a notice in this week's edition.

There's a horror story waiting to be told by a friend of mine, a mod on here, I don't know if he will tell the story, he should do as it seems very relevant to this thread.

When a trader goes "bandit" it spoils it for everyone who relies on postal sales, and that really pisses me off, I know that I am honest, but none of you do, you have to trust me, and when lads get let down why should they. :censored:

I hope the person with the story will now tell it, it needs to be told!

Very true and it does.

What ever the reason for his silence, (I hope he is well), there's no excuse to leave customers In Wait. Surely, and if this was me, I would of asked someone who I can trust to call all the cutomers who are awaiting products and inform them of the/a situation. Lack of communictaion can scar a business, and like SS has mentioned, other traders who rely with online trading.

Word of mouth................

everyone is giving the man the benefit of the doubt, I have the bad feeling that we are all be too kind, have spoken to a couple of people whom he used to go out with and have a lot of dealings with before he moved to the smaller premises, and they don't have a number for him now and don't keep in touch for whatever reason. if I am wrong and there is a genuine reason I appologise, but nobody who wants to run a respected business doesnt let someone whom he has taken money from know, if they cant fulfill the order in the agreed time for a genuine reason. friends family can all answer mobiles and respond the emails to put peoples minds at rest.

First of all i sincerely hope that John is in good health and thats not the reason the workshop is closed. My dad purchased a kennel from DD in early 2009 and we drove to the show held there to collect it, John and his team were very helpfull and dismantled the kennel at the show and helped us load it onto a trailer, the kennel was excellent and well priced, i also purchased a triple terrier box in early 2010 which again was well built and delivered promptly.

Around the same time i ordered a double kennel for home and was less impressed, four delivery days were given and no kennel was delivered which meant time of work and numerous phone calls, when the kennel did arrive i was unhappy at the wood quality and splits in the timber, three other forum members were at my house to witness this, i asked for a refund which took many calls and was finally told i would be fully reimbursed, this took time as i was told one cheque had forgotton to be delivered and then i received the cheque which was £60 short as i had been charged the collection fee, this was not what was agreed, but i was told the kennel was fine and had been shipped to another customer. In the end a good friend off the forum built my kennels..........

well heard today DD TIMBER went bankrupt this was off a pretty good source

That's bad news.....

If this source is concrete, then an explanation to all the waiting customers who have payed for their products is surely needed.

I can see what's going to happen if this is info is 100% correct.
