royboy 5
Before i get too ham fisted with it,can someone please tell me how to remove the leather washer and nylon cup from the airsporter piston. The only reason i need to remove it is that the tube with the slot in it has come adrift from the piston head and i need to re braze it back together. Thanks for looking Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
If I remember rightly on the very early Airsporters, the centre rod in the piston unscrews but it's a very long time since I worked on one with a leather washer. On the later models, there's a small roll pin that goes through the side of the nylon washer so make sure it's clean and see if it's held on that way before you try to unscrew the rod. Good luck, mate. Cheers. Quote Link to post
royboy 5
Hello mate Thanks for that but i am looking at it at the moment and i cant see any roll pin,and the centre rod is brazed into place. There is a steel cone on the front of the piston and i thought that this would have to be removed to take off the nylon retainer and washer but i havent a clue how this would come off.Cheers Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Sorry, mate, I'm a bit stuck in that case. If you get no joy on here try the BSA owners forum Quote Link to post

birdman6 10
You have a choice of 3 piston heads steel head, alloy head and a nylon head. The steel one is for export rated guns, so be carefull with the power. Quote Link to post
