Guest baldie
Heres the latest addition to the cabinets. Its a southern gun co speedmaster hipower, in .223. I bought it mainly for target work, but also have a moderator on the way, so i can use it for foxing, as it will be handier than the .204 out of a vehicle, and its rate of fire is a damn sight faster too. It will take, 10, 20, or 30 round mags, and you just pull the handle and let it go, to cucle a round, and eject the last.......great fun. Quote Link to post
Guest Macnas
This is as close as I'll get to one! I won't be so rude as to ask how much it cost....... Quote Link to post

Guest EWOK
Looks alot like an AR there Baldie, I've got one with a 16" stainless ultra max barrel chambered in 6x45, use it on running whitetails with the hounds. Shoot the 85 grain Sierra HPBT, does the number on them. The 20 round mag comes in handy too, if you shoot like I do at moving tatgets!!!!!!!!! Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
It is an AR , Ewok, only not semi auto. Can you make them 85 grainers fit the mag? do you want to share the load data buddy? Quote Link to post
Guest EWOK
Baldie, this is a 6x45 wildcat chambering, which is a .243 bullet in the .223 case. The case is easily formed by simply running 223 cases thru the 6x45 die but I do like to chaffer the inside of the case with a VLD tool before this and also lube the inside of the case good. There is no trimming needed except maybe to square up the face but I haven't seen any problem with this yet. My load is 26 grains of W748 and small rifle primers with the bullet seated to just fit the mag. and I get about 2500 fps. This is an Olympic Arms upper and uses the same bolt assembly as the 223. I went to this round to get more bullet weight as the 223's weren't working that well on deer but you do give up on speed so the effective range is cut down to 150 to 200 yards but for this application it has worked out well. I've been lucky enough to take several whitetail with this round from 75 to 150 yards and the bullet has performed very good on all but it doesn't leave much of a blood trail to follow, but if hit in the kill zone there is alot of damage to heart and lungs which provides a fast death and a short tracking job. Short , light, very low recoil and alot of fun to shoot when the big bunnies go hopping across the field. Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
Sounds great buddy. Have you seen an AR in the new 6.8spc yet? Quote Link to post

Guest baldie
Funny you should say that i had a chap whack two good targets, both at 311 yards, only this weekend with it.... Quote Link to post
Guest rudolf
what a coincidence, isn't that funny mate Quote Link to post
Guest EWOK
I've seen but not shot the 6.8 yet seems to be a good round from what I've heard. There is a guy here making uppers in the 243 WSSM, 25 WSSM, and 30 WSSM. The 25 WSSM has caught my eye but I've drifted into pistol shooting and trying to setup for cast boolits, along with building a small boat for swamp hunting and it is taking up all my time, just never enough time for everything it seems.
