more like 40 maximum, wolves have large territories so that many wolves to come together they would have to come from hundreds of miles away and cross so many different packs territories utter bollox

That was my first thought, the russian gov wants the wolves in that area gone, and with this kind of story they now have licence to kill hundreds in one area, not wiping out a super pack but in fact killing off the hundreds of packs in the area, the attached price tag is a sure fire way to get the russian yokels out wolf hunting.

400 seems abit far fetched to me . ive got a friend who lives in anchorage alaska , they got a few wolves about up there , packs mybe 10 or so . but they had a problem over the last few years with the ice melting earlier and there was a lack of seals and other factors ,so the wolves were preety hungry ,,shouldnt laff really but i did ,, they went into a small inuet villiage one day and killed 2 eskimo kids and the school teacher and ate them .. the dept of wildlife was right out there quick time and shot the fekin lot ... yet for some reason the wolves dont bother with the inuets dogs !!
