rossy08 33 Posted February 8, 2011 Report Share Posted February 8, 2011 HI all. well i'm going to get this off my chest now, FU*KING B"$%*&ED SH*T BAG WIND. there...i feel better now. sorry i'll continue. I finished work friday bang on time with my mate Andie helping me lock the shop went stright home and grabbed the all ready waiting gear, first thing on the list of "to do's" was a trip up to ady at A&M gunsmiths. arrived there to meet him and his wife and both were very happy to sit and chat away to us,very nice very kind and very helpfull. picked my self up a new twink silencer and got the bottle refilled for a very nice price,oh plus adaptor for the s400/410,Andie picked his air ranger up after repairs. in the van again once more off down the the permission.(well via mac d's for some grub and to put the world to rights for 15 mins. arrived on permission around the half 8 mark. got out the van and nearly ended up in the hedge, jeasus mate this wind gusting.was a steady 25mph gusting up to around the 50mph mark,according to the met office date. well out came the rifles for a zero check,,this will be fun. as thought was a problem. so after a bit of a chat about how we were going to zero we decided that the best bet was to zero when the wind was steady,well about the 25mph mark. this way we would have a zero and only have to allow for the gusts of wind. went up into the feilds and my god was it windy there will be no long shots tonight. there was pleanty off bunnies out playing but most well out of range,pluss due to the wind the ones that were out all had the bodys flat to the groung to avoid the wind,this made there eyes very difficault to spot in the lamp light,and we had to relie on finding there shape with our own eyes. Andie managed to pull a 20m shot out of the bag at around 2.30am. top shot in the condisions mate well done the next day was a total no no for shooting live guarry so the day was spent in one of the barns shooting out in to the feild to try and work the wind out best we could. sunday morning at first light was a little calmer and produced 2 more bunnies on for my self at about 15m and another for Andie at 25m we'd had more than enough of being wind sweped by this point so headed back to myn for a cuppa. weekend could have been so much better without the wind but was still good to be out and about with such a good mate.on the plus side did find out i have this weekend off as well now, think work are starting to realise i want more weekends off,so well have to give it another try then. sorry its abit long winded lads. but hears the pics. rossy08 33 Posted February 8, 2011 Author Report Share Posted February 8, 2011 yes mate put a right dampener on the weekend, alto it was usefull to see what the miixy and winter had done to the population, after chatting with the farmer some of the feilds that are pictured are not as over run as the used to be, but the feild near the barns are looking to be infested already. so not a total loss.
