New pup

Recommended Posts

I got a new whippet x greyhound pup yesterday. it was crying last night but thats normal. Can youse please tell me when i should start traning it and tips im still a learner at this

its just normal for it to cry for a few days.once it get used to you mate all will be good.start asap training it.get it doing the rudimenterys first.stay sit come to heel.retrieve, but make it all a game for the pup.and praise him loudly when he does it properly, make a good fuss of him,let him know he has done well.glad you got your pup and all the best with him

put a collar and lead on him and let him wander around the house dragging the lead.just keep your eye on him.it will benefit when you take him out for the first time on the lead.let him socialise with other people and dogs, but just be carefull what dogs you introduce him to,a dog thats not to friendly and attacks him could set him back for the future.

Just concentrate on building a really strong bond with your dog at first. Then introduce basic obedience training into play. Don't over do it. 2 or 3 times here and there and lots of praise when it gets it right. Consistency is the key if you give in and reward them when they haven't done as asked once they will always remember. Keep all training positive and it will be much easier.
