I had a female a few years ago..was one of the best winters i ever had..bushing about with her in the mornings.

Had some great sport with the little bird.full of fire.

Keep them off the moorhens and coots.

why keep them off the moorhens and coots ? aslong as there not on the water theres little chance they will drag your bird under water ,, my spar takes moorhens with complete ease

because they tend to always be on or around water to be honest mate...if there not on water its the 1st place they head for.. and many a bird has been lost on the water. that's what happened to mine when i let another guy have her.He lost her on moorhen on the water, she binded and he watched her drown..he could,nt get out to help her and that was the end of a beautifull little hunter.

magpie and crows...much more fun and a challenge...then partridge in january..need to be fit and fast.
