R4881T 1
Hi chaps, Does anyone know if a hw99s action will fit into a hw98 stock? And where can I get one? Cheers Ryan Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Hi R488IT. No one with an answer yet? I'm not certain myself as I have neither rifle in my collection. But I think the answer you seek lies with a visit to your gunshop and a chat with the gunsmith or, a phone call to Hull Cartridge. ATB Simon Quote Link to post

R4881T 1
No, no answer yet. I did call Hull Cartridge but they just fobbed me off saying that they have not tried it, which I think thats an excuse for we can't say in case anything goes wrong and they'd be liable! I might just buy a Hw98 stock and give it a go. Cheers Ryan Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Hi, Ryan. I know the 95's action is the same as the 98's but I'm not sure about the 99 Have a look on the Chamber's web site and cross reference the part numbers for the gun's cylinder, if they're the same it'll fit. Cheers. Quote Link to post
R4881T 1
Cheers Andy, I will look into that! Quote Link to post
R4881T 1
Just looked on the chambers site, They arent interchangeable. So thats scuppered that idea! Cheers for the help! Ryan Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
That's a shame. HW do use a lot of interchangeable parts on quite a few different models, sorry it's not the case with yours. Cheers. Quote Link to post
R4881T 1
Yeah there were quite a few similar parts, might consider an upgrade in the direction of the Hw98, depending on what I can get for mine from the gunshop! Atb Ryan Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
They're a nice rifle those 98s but they really are little more than a 95 in a party frock and they do cost a lot more, all you're getting over a 95 is the adjustable stock For the money you may be better off with the 95 then sending it off for a proper tuneing. Sandwell keeps on getting good reps from a few lads on here who know what's what but I've never delt with them personally. Edited February 8, 2011 by andyfr1968 Quote Link to post
R4881T 1
Thanks Andy, Just had a look and can get a HW95k for about £100 cheaper than the 98, cheers for the heads up! Quote Link to post
Ron Weasley 83
It's definitely worth spending the money to get it tuned up if you do get a 95 mate. As previously mentioned, Sandwell Field Sports or V-Mach would be my choice. I had my 95 tuned by Steve Pope at V-Mach a couple of years ago, and it took a great rifle to an incredible rifle.
