Congratulations to Ste (Rossi_J)

Hi lads,

I just wanted to congratulate Ste (Rossi_J) for a cracking win today at the HFT friendly comp in Swindon.

I’m not sure if someone will do a full post so I’ll only keep it brief as I don’t want to poop on someone else’s strawberries.

With a 25 mile per hour wind blowing left to right Ste managed a credible 53 out of a max possible score of 60.

He shot very well indeed from all the recognised shooting positions with his AA S410 giving a perfect demonstration of precision shooting in adverse conditions.

I thought that I was going to pip him at one stage with the new HW100T, but it wasn’t to be and he was the better man on the day beating me into second place with 50 points.

I don’t usually say congratulations in the open forum but I have to take my hat off to the lad his performance today was nothing short of magic, so well done Ste.

Take care buddy, credit due where credit earned.

ATB

Si.

Nice one Ste buddy,

Yep you did very well pal and I’m sure that you will go from strength to strength if you keep practicing  .

I’ll edit my above post to 53 buddy  .

I forgot to mention that after the comp we all went back to the zero range for a play on the knock downs where I managed to shoot 2 out of 3, 50 metre standing unsupported shots on a 1 and a half inch crow kill zone with the new rifle knocking it over twice in a wind :boogie: .

I was well chuffed with its performance for the first attempt at HFT with her  .

Yes, yes, yes! This is what I really like to hear. Top lads competing skill for skill and taking the prizes! Si you are a true sportsman and a fine ambassador for the sport in recognising Ste's accomplishment this way.

Ste. Congratulations on a most creditable win in adverse winds. That makes your victory all the more well-deserved in my book.

WELL DONE TO BOTH OF YOU. :clapper: :clapper: :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:

Simon

Edit to add. Ste thanks sincerely for the mention buddy but, it's you that put it to work mate. I'm delighted to see you getting results by it fella!

Hi Simon,

Thank you for your extremely kind comments friend about me and Ste :icon_redface: .

What you said about Ste is exactly what I said to him ¾ of the way through the friendly comp.

That what he was achieving was even better than he actually realised, as shooting in them winds and achieving his results meant that he was a far better shot than he actually gave himself credit for.

Judging changing wind speeds at various ranges from 8 to 45 yards, adjusting for hold over and lateral alignment due to wind and knocking the targets over, some as small as 10mm is no easy feat and is a lot different from potting a bunny in still conditions at 40 metres as any average hunter can do that easily.

Achieving good knock downs and allowing for all the above adverse conditions are what prove a good shot.

Ste did this very well today.

Regarding me being a true sports man, I believe that if a person truly deserves a pat on the back for his / her achievements then they should get one  .

I’m sure that the lads that were on the shoot with us today will back me up when I say he shot brilliantly  .

Looks like a fun day out. Where abouts in Swindon is the place? Is it the same place planned for the get together in April? (If so, stop cheating and getting practice in you lot! :p)

Good shooting all of you, Ste, that's a hell of a score in the winds we're experiencing! My chickens are not impressed, they're all hiding behind the shed!
