matmorgan 49
thanks for the replys everyone.im going to follow merle 24's advice and lay her of till next year.spend the summer fine tuning here retrieve and stuff.just a bit gutted seasons over for me. Matt i think you are doing the right thing,, to give the bitch the chance to mature and pan out in the head,,with all the time youve put in and the way the dam was its got to be worth it. I dont think anyone can guarentee 100% that she will come good,, but i really do think there is a good chance of that being the case,, iam not saying it because i bred these dogs either, a spades a spade to me. I have seen lads shift young dogs on before and regret it,, as they have come good in the end,, when left to pan out abit. I think youre doing the best things,, good on you mate, . cheers again mate.got plenty off time now to sit back and try and solve it.there is something a couple of people have said to me aboutmaturing.think i need to have a look at the way im doing things instead of the dog.who knows but we will have another bash at it next year.atb.mat Quote Link to post
jambay5 191
With deerhound in the mix you have to give it a chance can be very slow to mature, my old deerhoundx was well into her seconed year before she started hitting bunnies for fun, Quote Link to post

Mick C. 229
Looks like a dog that sould be capable physically. Some degree of agression should show as it matures. What about bolting a few with the ferrets when your on your own with him Might trigger him off if he gets excited enough GOOD LUCK Quote Link to post
