Hello Guys,

Those of you who have read my threads before know I am fairly new at this and many of you have helped me along the way.:)

I was about to step out the house and go for my Sunday lunch at the Inlaws today when a quick glance at my bird feeders revealed a greedy Squizzer just hanging on in there and helping himself!

I very nearly walked away right then, But a sudden rush of adrenalin pumped through my veins, I quickly un sheathed the S200, Cocked and loaded. The bugger was still there happy as Larry chomping away on sunflower seeds and decimating my feeders at around 25 yrds,(end of the garden). At that moment a little doubt set in as what I was about to do. Dam it's my garden should I be shooting things? Is this necessary, Is next door home.

Once the doubts had crept in was practically all over, I was not going to do this. But bugger me if was gonna let it destroy me feeders, I popped open the back doors with such vigor the squizzer was the only bloody thing left! I then talked me self into giving it a couple of warning shots.

Taking careful aim at the tin can down the garden "phheeewt cahunk". The squizzer made off up the tree, Just as the S200 was going back in the sheath he was back! So a second warning shot was applied! By now the missus had come to investigate what the hell was keeping and swift explanation was needed, Her next words made my mind up as what to do next.

Losing patience I got told in no uncertain terms to bloody hurry up! So without further ado I lined the Cross hairs up over the Squizzers nappa, Felling the second burst of adrenalin rush into me was quiet unsettling, A few seconds I had steadied up and was ready to the pull the trigger. "Phheewt dosh", The pellet found it's home just below the ear slightly above and left of the eye, The squizzer back flipped off the tree and hit the ground hard and lifeless.

He is know in a stew, And Shawn me Lurcher was treated to the tail:)

Sorry a bit ling winded, Enjoy the pics.

Cheers guys,

Not my first kill, First for a long time. I'm not a big advocate of killing in my garden and I sure ain't about to decimate the couple of woodies and odd Collared dove that venture to feed on my lawn lol.

Will be a very memorable kill all the same, Have been practicing for it thats for sure. The rush was unbelievable and was almost personal being in my back yard :icon_eek:

As for the taste can't fault it mate to be honest, First for me also if anything it has a nice texture a little like kidney is the only way i can explain it, Most of my meat comes delivered from driven shoots from friends and odd mallards if I'm lucky.

Hoping the dog will put some in the pot the he is 7 months and coming on nice, Scruffy and stuborn just like his old man lol :whistling:

Cheers

Great read this one Karpman

It's a great feeling for your confidence when your rifle gets her first kill, swiftly and cleanly despatched with a single, accurate shot to the brain. Squirrels are just another scavenging rat with cute looks. Your garden birds will not have complaints here, even if, like mine, your neighbours will probably faint in a Victorian melodramatic swoon at the sight of Tufty getting zapped.

What does he taste like?

SPA for cooking your first kill with the S200 fella

Cheers mate,

Tastes bloody good tbh. I eat owt though lol

Firm texture to the meat, Perhaps even a little tough. Good flavor, Will eat more without a doubt.

The 2 or 3 seconds before following through with stage 2 of the trigger, Maybe not even that I steadied as the adrenalin eased off and new it was time to pull, Almost sounding soft here lol. I'm not and have killed before, The execution was perfect or as dam near if I do say so my self. And more than a little chuffed to be honest.

Cheers
