bluecollar 104
Got a couple coons in my live trap the other day so it was a perfict time to get the pups really going good.. Made some drags for them they made it every time, all worked together well(4 pups under 18months).. I was real impressed with the hound I just picked up, got him as a gift for free and you always wonder if they are culls gettin'um like that but he seems to be a good one and gets better every time.. Let one coon go and held them pups back for a couple min., let them go and they got it on the ground real quick and were bayin it up real nice and it wasnt going anywhere.. All were baying real tight and not getting to forward and only grabbin it when it tried to get away.. Just the way I like my hounds.. Mine is a Walker/Trigg Brandons are Walker and a blietick/plott and chris's is plott/redbone.. I dont take pics anymore but it was a good show and the dogs all did their job!! And then I showed off my Terriers and Lurcher Treeing like mad, Lurchers make great coon tree dogs!!!! They never seen a lurcher and only pet JRT so needless to say they were impressed with the jagd and patt and I think a lil scared of the Lurcher, said they never seen nothing like that before.. Nice story, doing the same myself with the patterdales and the staghound as a treeing dog. We have been searching but now we are in non hunting season but I have treed a couple with the staghound using him as a lurcher and going to be breeding more of the stags into terriers as a cross of more of the all purpose type lurchers. From Coons, Fox, and Coyotes with a rabbit when available. USA bred here. Quote Link to post
