unfortunate pal.think you will need to get your head round it and think about next season .plenty of well bred litters going or in the pipeline.its harsh ,but its the name of the game.if she was a good un then she deserves a good retirement

Just look at footballers mate; it's one of the worst injuries they can get ! They are sent to the best surgeons and no expense spared, but some of them never make it back to their best. I'm not trying to put a downer on your situation, just telling it like it is.... Hope the dog isn't as seriously injured as it seems, and makes a full recovery, some do !!

Cheers.

True, my old bitch had it at 4 years old, had the op but never run proper again  very bad but quite common in running dogs

i had it happen with an 7 year old bullmastiff dog. it cost around £1500 and that was about 10 years ago, its all about the rest and slow recovery. he had to be caged for 6 weeks and it was about 8 months of steady exercise before he was back to normal. he was by then an older dog and didnt do much running.

a friend had a whippet greyound with a small tear which made a reasonable recovery but the dog was never as good after as it was before.

good luck with your case

happened to a friends bitch a few years ago he got it operated on but she was never the same ended up getting pts

happened to my 1st lurcher, nasty she totally snapped the ligament, got the op done, she always had a limp but could still run,it was hard to watch her,but she still enjoyed a sort of hunting life, till she tumbled on the chase and hurt same leg again,i would say retire her and get something else in.

sorry to say it but i hated running her knowing she wasnt as good as she was.
