Attack Fell Terrier 864
I hear what you're saying Gnash, but I'd love to see him up at heavyweight and I would love to see him wreck all the big bad wrestlers up there as well. I think he's got a real shot at taking the heavyweight title in all honesty. He's such a good fighter. Unlike a lot of the others who aren't particularly brilliant at fighting but are just so physically strong and powerful that they just muscle their way through their opponents. I don't think there's a Middleweight to test him, and there's plenty of interesting fights to be made at Light Heavyweight, but seeing him win the heavyweight title would be something for us all to experience. I don't think he's got anything to lose, if he did lose at heavyweight no one could hold it against him, so why not? He's the best ever so far IMO.
Lab 10,979
Silva is amazing......its his choice to jepordise his career by moving up to Heavywieght..i dont think he should....he has nothing to prove fighting big heavy guys who could grab him, slam him and ground and pound him.... Saying that if he does decide to go up then it will be great viewing for us......

Heavyweight ....blimey thats pushing it a bit....light heavy possibly but heavy is a step too far in my opinion.....i know he,s a rangey guy and could probably hold the weight on but for a fighter who relies on his speed and reflexes like Silva does to be carrying excess weight takes away his most dangerous asset.....yes im sure he could cope through sheer technique.....but will he be able to carry his punch and power up with him.....i have my doubts he could do that at light heavy let alone full blown heavyweight......but thats what keeps sport interesting i guess.....i just dont think he should go looking for a loss...let the challengers raise their game and come to him thats what being a champion is all about. Silva's got great skills, technique, speed and power but and I think his accuracy is his greatest asset. Fair enough there's some interesting bouts at Light Heavy for him to take but I can't see anyone beating him. If he was to beat a few more at Light Heavy then I don't see why it's such a crazy idea for him to go up in weight again. Randy done it, with mixed results but he's not a patch on Silva IMO. It'd surely be a great feat and if anyone can do it, then Silva's the man .
moonlighter 1,164
Well if he wants to challenge himself then he needs to move up to light heavy. It would gets the fans on his side too and gain there respect. Mma fighters don't stay at the top for long, so he may as well get beaten by the light heavy champ than get beaten by a lucky punch from a lesser rate challenger. Light when hatton moved up to fight mayweather.
Simoman 110
It isn't a good move for Silva career wise or financially to move up a division, for me it increases his chances of a loss. Somebody will beat him, look at Chuck Liddell, for a while he looked unstopable, knocking out and beating the cream of the light heavyweight division, Ortiz/Couture/Sobral/Horn etc, then he got knocked out by Ramapage and his record became poor, losses to Evans/Franklin/Jardine and Rua, then he retired. Silva WILL lose, hes just having a good run, plus in my opinion the division isn't the strongest, i think some of the light heavyweights would give Silva more problems, I honestly thought Griffin would of beaten him.......
