I didn't think Belfort was going to be as cautious as he was in the opening couple of minutes. Although it was a different style of kick the ko reminded me of when Gonzaga beat CroCop. Do you think they will try to sort something out for a match with St-Pierre?

There was plenty of talk before christmas about trying to sort a catchweight fight out but i can't really see either being too happy with it. Who do you think poses the biggest threat now? theferreter 311
its gona take some one special to beat silva the mans unstoppable at the min
trappa 518
Vitor gave him too much respect. He should have done what sonnen did and just go for it. I doubt anyone can stand with Silva, its going to take another wrestler to beat him IMO. Mixed night for the Brits- Taylor looked good! Shame for Kelly but he was up against a solid oppo. Got fight of the night so at least Kelly gets a bonus there!
staffs riffraff 1,068
I agree belfort should of played his own game then u think he would of had a good chance but that kick came out of nowhere he was starting to put it on silva then bang lol
Simoman 110
Silvas fight with Sonnen was a good one, Sonnen did better than anyone against him and in my opinion was unlucky in the final round, unfortunately a rematch probably wont happen as Sonnen tested positive for drugs after their last fight. Personally i'd like to see Henderson take him on again, i think he has a better chance than most......
danman 27
I reckon any pikeyy could take him on. Edited February 6, 2011 by danman
moonlighter 1,164
rather than him move down to gsp, i would rather see him move up to light heavy and fight them...he has no excuss now as his mate is no longer the champion...if bones jones beats shogun then that would be one hell ova fight. gnasher16 30,597
agree thats when we will see how good h is as he is naturally a big guy so i think light heavy is where he should be fighting i sure he 6.2 so shouldnt have much of a problem with putting too much bulk on The idea is to fight at your lightest possible weight not your heaviest.....he would be mad to move up,the only reason a fighter should move up is if he is struggling to make weight and he,s not......you only want him to move up to see him pushed harder and possibly lose but thats just the way sport works sometimes a fighter dominates the era he is in which is all Silva is doing. Belfort was too hesitant but thats what a good counter puncher will do is make you warey of letting punches go through fear of being tagged........whats Randy Couture doing these days couldnt he cut a leg off and get down to middleweight
staffs riffraff 1,068
know what your saying gnaherr but he could do it comfortably thats when we will see him matched better
moonlighter 1,164
know what your saying gnaherr but he could do it comfortably thats when we will see him matched better well if he wants to test himself then he will have to move up a weight..all the greats have done it in two different weights so i think he should too....couture,,b.j.penn,,just to name a couple. gnasher16 30,597
well if he wants to test himself then he will have to move up a weight..all the greats have done it in two different weights so i think he should too....couture,,b.j.penn,,just to name a couple. You say that but its only in todays times with advances of knowledge in sports nutrition/cutting weight etc that its even been possible.....back even only 10 years ago it was very rare for a fighter to return to a lower weight class.... Test himself the mans a world champion he didnt get there by not being tested its just the nature of competetive sport that occasionally somebody will come along who appears superior........but that rarely lasts......very few fighters ever retire undefeated or even on top.....Silva will be no different his time will come but why should he go up in weight to look for a loss its up to others to reach his level not him lower his own level.
